Tori Spelling

Victoria Davey Spelling, born May 16, 1973, is an American actress. She was first seen in a major role on Beverly Hills 90210 as Donna Martin, which she began in 1990. A Friend to Die For (1994), A Carol Christmas (2003) and The Mistle-Tones (2012) are some of her television appearances. She also appeared in both the original and updated versions of Mother, May You Sleep With Danger? (1996 and 2016), and The Last Sharknado – It’s About Time (2018). She also appeared in numerous independent films, including Trick (1999), Scary Movie 2(2001), Scary Movie 3 (2001), Cthulhu (2006), Kiss the Bride (2007), and Izzie’s Way Home (2016). In 2019, she reprised her role as Donna Martin in Beverly Hills 90210’s spinoff, BH90210.

Spelling’s autobiography Stori Telling debuted at the top of the New York Times Bestseller List and was named the Best Celebrity Autobiography of 2009.

Early life

Spelling was born in Los Angeles. Spelling is the daughter Candy Spelling (nee Marer) and Aaron Spelling (1923-1906). She also has a younger brother, Randy. He is an actor and a life coach. Spelling’s parents are from Jewish families, whose ancestors immigrated to the United States from Russia or Poland. Her paternal grandfather David gave her her middle name. She attended Beverly Hills High School, Beverly Hills, California. In 1991, she graduated from Harvard-Westlake School, a private elite school.

Early work

Spelling began acting lessons at six years old from an acting coach her father hired. She was later given guest spots on TV series like T. J. Hooker’s Love Boat, Hotel, Fantasy Island and Saved by the Bell. Spelling Television’s Aaron Spelling gave her the role of Donna Martin in Beverly Hills, 90210 at the age of 17. Tori Spelling played Donna throughout the entire series and was nominated twice for Young Artist Awards.

Spelling starred in Beverly Hills, 90210. Spelling also appeared in a variety of made-for-television films including A Friend to Die for (1994), Mother, May I Sleep With Danger? (1996). (1996) and several independent films including Trick (1999), The House of Yes (191997), and Trick (1999).

Spelling played herself on the VH1 sitcom So Notorious in 2006. This parody of her public image was aired from 2007 to 2012. In January 2007, Spelling and Dean McDermott, her second husband, pretended that they owned and operated Chateau La Rue, a Fallbrook, California bed and breakfast. This was in preparation for their reality series Tori & Dean Home Sweet Hollywood. Originally Tori & Dean Inn Love aired on Oxygen between 2007 and 2012. Spelling was appointed a minister to wed a gay couple at Chateau la Rue in July 2007. Inn Love aired a tape of the ceremony.

Personal life

Spelling was married to Charlie Shanian, an actor and writer, on July 3, 2004. Spelling met Dean McDermott while filming Mind Over Murder, a Lifetime TV-movie, in Ottawa. Mary Jo Eustace was Spelling’s then wife. Spelling and McDermott started cheating on each other the night they met. Spelling and Shanian split in October 2005. Shanian filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. The finalization of the divorce was on April 20, 2006.

McDermott was married to Spelling less than a month later in Wakaya (Fiji), in a private ceremony. Spelling and McDermott renewed the vows on May 8, 2010 in Beverly Hills, California.  They have five children together, three boys, Liam Aaron (born March 13, 2007, Finn Davey (born August 30, 2012.) and Beau Dean (born February 2, 2017). Stella Doreen was born June 9, 2008, and Hattie Margaret was born October 10, 2011. She is also the stepmother of Jack Montgomery McDermott, McDermott’s son with Eustace.
