Aliya Mustafina

Aliya Farkhatovna Mustafina, a Russian ex-artistic gymnast. She is one of the greatest gymnasts of all times, with a total of 45 Olympic, World, and European Championship medals.

She is the 2010 all-around champion in the world, the European all-around champion in 2013, and the 2012 and 2016 Olympic uneven bars champion. She is also a seven-time Olympic gold medalist. Mustafina is tied with Svetlana Kharkina for the record of most medals won by a Russian gymnast, not including Soviet Union women’s national artistic gymnastics teams. She was the ninth gymnast who won medals in every event at the World Championship.

Mustafina was the most decorated gymnast at the 2012 Summer Olympics and the most decorated swimmer in any sport, winning four medals. She became the first female gymnast, since Simona Amanar 2000, to win an all around medal in two Olympics and the first since Svetlana Kharkina 2000, to defend her Olympic apparatus title.

Mustafina, after Simone Biles, is the Olympic Women’s Olympic Artistic Gymnast with the most medals.

Mustafina, the Russian junior national soccer team’s head coach, was announced in February 2021.

Early life

Mustafina was conceived in Yegoryevsk (Russia) on 30 September 1994. Farhat Mustafin, her father, was a Volga Tatar and was a bronze medalist at Greco-Roman wrestling in 1976 Summer Olympics. Yelena Kuznetsova is an ethnic Russian teacher of physics.

Personal life

Mustafina began dating Russian bobsledder Alexey Zaitsev in autumn 2015. Both were in the hospital recovering from injuries sustained during sports. They met. They were married in Krasnodar on the 3rd of November 2016.

It was reported in January 2017 that Mustafina was pregnant. The baby was due July 2017. Mustafina gave Birth to Alisa on 9 June 2017. According to reports, she had divorced her husband in April 2018.
