Aliza Vellani

Aliza Vellani, a Canadian television actress who was born October 30, 1991 in British Columbia. Vellani is best known for her role in Sweet Tooth’s Netflix series Rani Singh. Other credits include Layla Siddiqui on CBC’s Little Mosque on the Prairie, Marcy on the CW series iZombie, and Sandeep on the revival season Fox series The X-Files.

Education and early life

Vellani was the daughter of East African Indian immigrants. York House School was where she began her training. Vellani was awarded the BC and National Istar Awards in Arts and Culture in 2007 and 2008. Vellani continued her training as an actor, singer, and dancer after high school. Vellani holds a BFA in Theatre from Simon Fraser University.

Career

Aliza Vellani, an actress based in Vancouver, Canada has over a decade experience in the Film & TV Industry both in Canada and the United States. Vellani’s credits include the hits series ‘Little Mosque on the Prairie’, ‘The X-Files’ (FOX), and ‘Marvel’s Super Hero Adventures’. (Disney+). In 2020, Rani Singh, her role in Netflix’s new series Sweet Tooth was elevated to series regular. Vellani wants to tell stories, create work that inspires and shows that the world truly is their oyster.
