Allie Clifton

Allie Bethany Clifton, born January 30, 1988, is a sports journalist who was formerly a college basketball player. She is currently the TV pregame host on Spectrum SportsNet for Los Angeles Lakers telecasts. Prior to that, she was a sideline reporter for Fox Sports Ohio for Cleveland Cavaliers.

Biography

Allie Bethany Clifton, born January 30, 1988. Clifton is a native of Van Wert in Ohio. She played college basketball with the Toledo Rockets women’s basketball team between 2006 and 2010. Clifton started her broadcasting career after college as a sports reporter at ABC affiliate WTVG channel 13, before joining the Cavaliers broadcast team.

Clifton started hosting the podcast Road Trippin’ in 2017 with Cavs players Richard Jefferson, Channing Frye. Many of the podcast’s first episodes featured Cavs players, and were recorded while the team was traveling.

Clifton, who was then leaving Fox Sports Ohio and Cavaliers in summer 2018, announced that she would be taking a job as a host on Spectrum SportsNet’s pregame show for Los Angeles Lakers Telecasts. This coincided with LeBron James signing with the Lakers.

Honors and awards

Clifton was a Cavaliers broadcaster and won two Lower Great Lakes Emmy Awards in 2018. Clifton started hosting the podcast Road Trippin’ in 2017 with Cavs players Richard Jefferson, Channing Frye. Many of the podcast’s first episodes featured Cavs players, and were recorded while the team was traveling.
