Aleksa Palladino

American actress and singer Aleksa Federici Paladino was born September 21, 1980. She is perhaps best known for her roles in Manny & Lo and The Adventures of Sebastian Cole. A main role was also taken by her in Catch Fire, the second season of AMC’s period drama Halt. She was also part of the dreampop duo Exitmusic, which released the albums The Decline of the West (2007) and Passage (2012).

Acting career and life

Aleksa Federici Paladino was born in New York City. She grew up there and later worked as an actress. She is the daughter of Sabrina A. Palladino (filmmaker, soprano singer), photographer, producer, and graphic artist) and Angela Fodale Palladino (Italian-American illustrator, designer, and graphic designer). Palladino designed the lettering in Robert Bloch’s 1959 novel Psycho. An episode of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, is dedicated to Tony.Palladino’s aunt, Kate Palladino-Kirk, is a designer, her great-great-uncle Rocco Fodale was a painter from Trapani, and her great-uncle Tonino Fodale worked as a retoucher for the biggest fashion photographers, such as Richard Avedon and Peter Lindbergh.Palladino’s ancestral origins are in Naples and Sicily.

She was 14 when she played “Lo” in Manny & Lo, which featured a 16-year old character. She was offered her first leading role in Number One Fan with Glenn Fitzgerald the following year. She also appeared in Wrestling with Alligators with Joely Richardson, The Adventures of Sebastian Cole with Adrian Grenier, Second Skin with Fitzgerald again.

Red Dirt was released in 2000. Lonesome and Storytelling with Selma were also released. Later, she appeared in Law & Order: Criminal Intent (where two characters were played), The Sopranos, and Law & Order.

She was mainly active on television in 2010s. Her role as Jimmy Darmody, a Prohibition-era gangster, and Angela his closeted wife on HBO’s Boardwalk Empire is a highlight. She was also a series regular in season two of the critically-acclaimed AMC series Halt and Catch Fire, as Sara Wheeler. It was only theatrically released.

Music career and personal life

She was the ex-singer and songwriter for Exitmusic for over ten years. The band formed in 2007 with Devon Church. In 2011, Exitmusic released an EP [16] and in 2012, a full-length album on Secretly Canadian. Felte Records released a final album in 2018.

Palladino and Church met on a cross-Canada train trip in 2001. They were married on September 30, 2004 and separated in 2013. They divorced in 2015. They were married for a total of ten years.
