Colleen Celeste Camp

Colleen Celeste camp, born June 7, 1953, is an American actress and producer. After playing a few parts, she was cast in the lead role in The Swinging Cheerleaders (1974), which was followed by two episodes of the Police Academy series. Camp played supporting roles in Death Game (1977), Apocalypse Now (799) and The Seduction (1982). After that, she was Julie’s mother on Valley Girl and Yvette The Maid in the 1985 comedy Clue.

Early life

Colleen Camp was born San Francisco, California. Don and Glen are her two brothers. She was a teenager when she moved to San Fernando Valley. She attended John H. Francis Polytechnic High School and Los Angeles Valley College. California State University, Northridge is where she studied English with a minor in theater arts.

Career

Camp taught macaws at Busch Gardens weeknights and weekends. Then, during the summer, he performed for 2,000 people in six shows per day, six days per week, to help pay college. Camp studied singing and acting lessons as she aspired to become an actress. Camp was discovered by a talent agent after her Busch Gardens TV special featured her and her birds. She was hired to do national-television commercials with Gallo wine and Touch of Sweden hand cream. American Style, as well as six episodes on the miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man.

Camp was a small part in early films such as Funny Lady with Barbra Strreisand and James Caan and Smile with Bruce Dern, Barbara Feldon and Barbara Feldon. In Bruce Lee’s 1978 movie Game of Death, Camp played Ann, his young girlfriend. Her scenes were shot with a lookalike because Lee had already died. She performed the love theme, “Will this be the song I’ll be singing tomorrow?” Camp was cast as a Playmate by Francis Coppola in 1979’s film Apocalypse Now. This was followed by a pictorial in October 1979 Playboy. However, most of her footage had been cut from the theatrical release. Later, she would be more prominent in Coppola’s Redux cut. In 1979, she was the first actress to portray Kristin Shepard (the sister of Linda Gray) in Dallas’ primetime soap opera. Mary Crosby eventually replaced Camp in this role.

Camp was a steady performer in films like Peter Bogdanovich’s 1981 comedy They All Laughed. 1985’s Valley Girl. 1985’s Clue. 1994’s Michael J. Fox’s Greedy is a Fox comedy. In two Police Academy films, she played a police officer. Camp was twice nominated for the Worst Supporting Actress Golden Raspberry Award. She won it for The Seduction in 1982 and Sliver in 1993. She played Tracy Flick’s mother, Tracy Flick, in the 1999 film Election. Reese Witherspoon was Tracy. In 2009, she appeared in House’s episode “Simple Explanation”.

She appeared in a supporting part in David O. Russell’s American Hustle in 2013. The next year, Camp produced a Broadway production Love Letters. In 2015, Camp also co-produced Eli Roth’s thriller Knock Knock.

Personal life

Camp was in a relationship with Dean Tavoularis in the late 1970s. They met in the Philippines during filming Apocalypse Now. John Goldwyn, a Paramount executive who she married in 1986, was their divorced in 2001. Emily was their only child.

Camp announced his engagement to Garrett Moore (34-year-old son of Derry Moore (12th Earl of Drogheda), in November 2020.
